GLSW Mountaineering Courses
Courses 2010
The County Mountaineering Instructors Team, under the direction of
, run a number of courses for scouts and leaders with varying levels of
experience. The courses normally have some evening and/or weekend content
in the south-east, followed by a weekend away.

Mountain Skills Weekend: 14 & 19 - 21 Feb 2010. These weekends
will be run by GLSW and the Surrey Scout County, and are open to all Scout
Association members over the age of 16; they will be run from the GLSW
County Activity Centre (Yr Hen Neuadd) in Bethesda on the edge of Snowdonia
National Park, North Wales. Participants are expected to have a general
interest in mountaineering and ideally would have been involved in expeditions
into the hills.

Unfortunately there are no plans for a course at present. Please contact
in the first instance if you are interested in having a course organised.
The Explorer Scouts' Weekend: 17th October
& 22ndOctober - 24th October 2010 is again based in Bethesda.

Authorisation Assessment can usually be arranged on any of the courses
held in the appropriate terrain.
National Governing Body (Mountain Leader
Training Board) and Assessor Training
courses are held at a number of centres throughout the UK.
